Travel agencies, do you want to employ Ukrainian refugees? We know how to do it

More and more Ukrainian refugees are coming to the Czech Republic because of the war, and travel agencies can legally employ them. It is surprisingly easy. How to do it?

Check whether the potential employee has been granted temporary protection. Proof of it is marked on the travel document as:

- A visa sticker of a long-stay special visa for the purpose of toleration in the territory marked D/VS/U (or its equivalent in the form of a stamp with the D/VS/U stamp due to the lack of visa stickers), or

- A temporary protection visa sticker marked D/DO (or its equivalent in the form of a stamp marked D/DO due to the lack of visa stickers).

A refugee under temporary protection does not need a work permit, so you can conclude a work contract with him/her without further delay. Only after signing the contract and no later than the day you start work, you must report the refugee to the Labour Office or its competent regional office. The content of the report is a notification that you have employed a foreigner who does not need a work permit. A sample of this form can be found here.

If your Ukrainian employees need legal help, refer them to ua.support, a website that connects refugees with lawyers around the world who can provide them with the free legal assistance they need.

I would like to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts the firm had to make to bring our case to a successful compensation under extremely difficult circumstances.
