contact usThe Association of Travel Agencies in the Czech Republic ("ACK") has crafted a brochure addressing the resolution of crisis situations in tourism. These scenarios encompass incidents such as injuries or fatalities, significant property damage, or environmental harm. While, in most cases, these critical situations cannot be predicted, preparation is possible. Hence, the inception of this brochure.
Though each crisis may vary, drawing from past experiences enables the formulation of general guidelines on how to proceed in such moments. The brochure serves as a guide on navigating these circumstances and whom to contact for assistance.
The brochure is divided into several categories, including the impacts of critical situations on tour operators' obligations, passengers' rights during transportation, communication in crisis situations, client disappearances or abductions, deaths of clients abroad or foreign clients of travel agencies in the Czech Republic, as well as baggage and personal belongings losses.
The publication utilises so-called checklists or clear questionnaire templates to aid individuals in recognizing the type of crisis situation, steps to take in sequence, and recording their completion.
Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, the Czech Insurance Association, the General Directorate of the Czech Republic Fire Rescue Service, and representatives from the tourism sector under the umbrella of the Association of Travel Agencies in the Czech Republic.
