EU Grant for Trade Mark Registration

A brand and logo today rank among the key assets of not only every tour operator but also every travel agency. It is precisely through these that clients recognise, seek out, and associate a business with the quality of its services. Yet in practice, we still encounter many businesses whose logos are not legally protected, or are protected only to a limited extent.

European Union Trade Mark

One of the most effective instruments for protecting a logo and brand is a European Union trade mark registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. It affords unitary protection across the entire European Economic Area and enhances legal certainty for both tour operators and travel agents in the conduct of their business domestically and abroad.

Grant Support for Trade Mark Registration

Registration of an EU trade mark is now significantly more accessible. In 2026, the European Union continues to provide financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises for the protection of their intellectual property rights, including tour operators and travel agents.

From 2 February 2026, it is possible to obtain up to EUR 700 as a contribution towards the EU trade mark registration fee, corresponding to 75% of the application cost.

The registration of a trade mark, particularly when combined with an application for grant support, is neither administratively nor legally straightforward and entails a number of procedural complexities.

We have long specialised in EU trade marks and provide end-to-end assistance (not only for tour operators and travel agents), from preliminary clearance searches through to the successful drawdown of the grant.

Exhaustion of the Grant

Grant funding may be utilised no later than 2 December 2026. However, the programme operates on a first-come, first-served basis and funds are awarded only until the allocated budget is exhausted. Experience from previous years indicates that funds are often depleted considerably earlier.

Are you considering whether an EU trade mark is appropriate for your business, tour operator, or travel agency?
Are you uncertain whether your logo satisfies the registrability requirements?
Or do you prefer a comprehensive legal solution without administrative burden?

Everything was explained to me clearly, I had ample opportunity to ask questions, and I felt a genuine interest in resolving my situation.

My special and greatest thanks go to JUDr. Klára Dvořáková, whose commitment, precision, and empathy meant more to me than can be conveyed in just a few sentences.

About 80 years ago, my ancestors had to leave their home. The property has now been returned to our family through inheritance and thanks to the excellent work of the law firm.
