We have long specialised in legal services in the field of healthcare. Our services are available for both patients and healthcare providers. We also specialise in end of life and death related issues.
Legal services for patients
We have been very successful in representing patients in disputes with health insurance companies for exceptional reimbursement of treatment under Section 16 of the Public Health Insurance Act.
We are also actively involved in claims for compensation for damage caused by vaccination, including the vaccination against COVID-19. In addition, our lawyers have authored a commentary on the law relating to compensation for damage caused by compulsory vaccination.
Our specialty is in legal issues related to end of life and death. For example, we can help you prepare a patient's previously expressed wishes.
We generally represent patients and their families in cases related to the provision of health care services. In addition to claiming compensation, we prepare and file complaints with health care providers, regional authorities, the Czech Medical Chamber or the Czech Dental Chamber, and provide representation in civil litigation for personal injury compensation and, exceptionally, criminal charges.
Thanks to our international cooperation with specialists in personal injury, we are able to resolve disputes with an international element.
Legal services for healthcare providers
We provide comprehensive legal services for health service providers and pharmacies, particularly in relation to
- the establishment of a health service provider,
- obtaining authorization to provide health services,
-entering into contracts for health care reimbursement from health insurance,
- reimbursement disputes with health insurance companies, and
- transfer of medical or pharmacy practice.
We also lecture, on topics related to the field of health law, at universities and conferences for the professionals and general public. Furthermore, we regularly publish information on these topics. We are the co-authors of commentaries on the Health Services Act and the Specific Health Services Act. At present, we are preparing a commentary on the Act on Compensation for Injuries Caused by Compulsory Vaccination.
